I am a Maryland based ‘left-brain’ photographer with an eye for ‘right-brain’ composition. While I do have favorites, I enjoy a wide range of photographic subjects and have never wanted to restrict myself to one category.
Photographs should tell a story, I want to capture every word.
Unlike a famous landmark, people do not get photographed millions of times. That is why I enjoy portraiture the most – the opportunity to work on a fresh face and do my best at creating a family heirloom that will remind future generations of us long after we’re gone. Sports are my second favorite, I feel that following an athlete in your viewfinder is the closest you’ll ever get to participating in the sport directly.
I also enjoy teaching and have been asked if I worry about the extra competition.. Not really, If I can help people take better snapshots – I’m happy. If they were to choose photography as a profession, I welcome them and only hope they continue the technical perfection, quality and professionalism I strive for. One or two classes only go so far, I’ve been through over a decade of classes, workshops and a countless number of other resources. When someone wants to hire that expertise for a studio session or an event I am happy to help.
