Meet Christine

My photography journey officially started in the mid 2000's. I had always enjoyed photographing the world, but it wasn't until I met John and through his instruction I was able to make the camera produce the photograph that I envisioned.

At this time I started developing my own film in the darkroom and starting the journey in several alternative process photography techniques. My favorites are by far the Cyanotype and Van Dyke Brown processes. Working with children my whole life has made it easier for me to teach our children's alternative process photography classes.

Our time at Civil War, Wild West, and Steampunk reenactments is my favorite part of what we do.  History has always been a big part of my life. My father reenacted the Revolutionary and French and Indian war and we always participated in community events like Mountain Craft Days in my hometown of Somerset, Pennsylvania.

Demonstrating the Wet Plate Collodion process at Civil War reenactments, Wild West, and Steampunk events have become some of  my favorite parts of our Photography Journey.  Not only is the Civil War one of the foundations of Journalistic Photography (especially Antietam one of our favorite reenactments), but the people we meet and the places we get to explore are absolutely amazing.

I photograph maternity and newborn photo shoots, as well as children because of my experience and love of the subjects. I also enjoy nature, macro, and astrophotography.
